There are are many apps and podcasts that deepen your reflection, connect you with others, and enhance your prayer! Here are a few.
Of course, check out our own podcast, the Providence Podcast!
Pray-as-you-go is a podcast, a website, and an app offered by the British Jesuits. Each daily prayer has a little music, some reflection questions, and one of the Scripture readings for the day. It also has seasonal retreats and other prayers and reflections.
Unlocking Us was a podcast hosted by Brené Brown. She offered her own insights and also interviewed really interesting people. From its website: “Join researcher and #1 New York Times best-selling author Brené Brown as she unpacks and explores the ideas, stories, experiences, books, films, and music that reflect the universal experiences of being human, from the bravest moments to the most brokenhearted.” This podcast is no longer offering new episodes, but the back episodes are worth a listen.
On Being with Krista Tippett is a spirituality radio show on NPR and a podcast too. As described on its website, “What does it mean to be human? How do we want to live? And who will we be to each other? Each week a new discovery about the immensity of our lives.”
Messy Jesus Business is a ministry somewhat like God Space! It offers reflections and also a podcast. As described on its website, “Jesus is the Living Word, who came and showed us how to respond to the signs of the times. We don’t know where the signs of these times are pointing, but we know we got to get going. Contemplate the gospel with us, challenge the ways of the world with us, walk with us, pray with us.”
Ten Percent Happier with Dan Harris interviews people about mindfulness, meditation, wellness, and spirituality. From the Ten Percent Happier Podcast Page, “On this show, Dan talks with eminent meditation teachers, top scientists, and even the odd celebrity. Guests include everyone from His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Brené Brown to Karamo from Queer Eye. On some episodes, Dan ventures into the deep end of the pool, covering subjects such as enlightenment and psychedelics. On other episodes, it’s science-based techniques for issues such as anxiety, productivity, and relationships.”
