When the Veil Is Thin: Love, Loss, and Communion | Providence Podcast

What if we're more deeply connected to one another than we realize—even across the boundary between life and death?

As we celebrate All Saints and All Souls, I reflect on a beloved sister's death and a sacred moment when I sensed the presence of sisters who had gone before us. It was a glimpse of what we call the Communion of Saints, and it left me wondering: What if that communion is always there, even when the busyness of everyday life makes it hard to see?

In this reflection, we make room for both the ache of grief and the beauty of love that continues to hold us together. Whether you're remembering someone you love, navigating loss, or simply wondering about our connection with one another and with God, I hope you'll find comfort in this reflection.

Perhaps the thin places don't create our connection. Perhaps they simply help us recognize what has been true all along: we belong to one another, and we are one in God.

Come as you are. You belong here.
